Are you getting ready to go into college and either don’t know what you want to be at all or simply know that you want to help people for a living? What is a Travel Nurse?
The title “travel nurse” really explains a good portion of the profession. If you get into this type of nursing, then you will be traveling to different locations, whether it be in the country or out of it, and providing your nursing skills to those in need. When you are assigned to a location, you will be staying there for an extended period of time, such as a few months, and be living there as a local and work in their nursing facility. Travel nurses are giving contracts for each place that they are assigned to go and they have the opportunity to jump into one right after the other or they can even take a break in between.

Education Details for Traveling Nurses
There are some educational steps that you have to take in order to become a certified travel nurse. You do have a few choices to begin with. You will need to get an associate’s in nursing first and then go get either a bachelor’s in nursing or you can even go to nursing school. Whichever path you decide to choose works; you will most likely be in school for about 4 years in total. You will then have to pass the RN exam to become a legally certified nurse. After that, you choose which area you would like to specialize in based upon your interests and get your master’s degree for that specialized area. Once all of your schooling is done, you are usually required to have at least one year of work experience within your field before you can be hired in as a traveling nurse.
