Financial Aid for my Practical Nursing EducationEnrolling for a practical nursing education qualifies you for a NEALP assistance loan if you have enrolled in an Ohio-approved nurse education program. The assistance is initially set up as a loan to pay for your practical nursing education, but once you have served as a full-time nurse in Ohio for five years you will then qualify for 100% loan cancellation.This program was set up to assist Ohio in overcoming its nursing shortage by providing students such as you with financial assistance to give them extra incentive to further their education.

  • Disclosure statement
  • High school transcript
  • Valid government identification
  • Proof of citizenship
  • Proof you’ve completed an American Heart Association CPR course
  • Signed and dated physical completed by physician or qualified medical representative within one year from when you request admission
  • Complete and pass a drug test
  • Provide immunization records
  • Complete a criminal background check
