ALPHA BETA KAPPA NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Gamma Kappa Chapter of Ohio
The Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society recognizes superior student academic achievement at many private post secondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities throughout our nation. It is the mark of distinction for an institution to be awarded a Chapter of Alpha Beta Kappa.
The fact that an individual is elected to membership in this honor fraternity sets her or him apart as an exemplar of personal integrity and excellence. It is the uncommon person who qualifies for membership in Alpha Beta Kappa.
RECOGNITION CERTIFICATE AND HONORS
Each honor graduate elected to membership receives a personalized membership certificate. This certificate includes the candidate’s name, institution, Chapter affiliation, and date of graduation. To properly honor this achievement, each certificate also includes the Alpha Beta Kappa Gold Seal of Distinction and Official Crest as seen above.
ABK GOLD KEY
To accompany this certificate, each outstanding student receives this Honorary Alpha Beta Kappa Gold Key. Professionally die-struck, sandblasted and polished, each Gold Key bears the Greek letters A.B.K., a five-pointed star, laurel branches, and two of the finest words in any language – “Integrity” and “Excellence.”
Each honor student also receives a special congratulatory letter from Alpha Beta Kappa, a narrative that describes the society, and upon request a letter of reference to use when seeking employment or other opportunities.
SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA
Student candidates must meet three required criteria as set by Athena Career Academy. General qualifications for regular membership are excellence in the classroom and laboratory work; leadership and service in class and school activities; and personal integrity and good moral character.
